Walking The West Highland Way
You may recall this time last year when we walked the Camino de Santiago de Compostela in northern Spain. We got hooked pretty good on the whole "take a long walk" thing and so this month we're off once again, this time to the highlands of Scotland.

The West Highland Way starts just north of Glasgow, in the town of Milngavie and runs 155km (96 miles) north to Fort William. It's Scotland's most popular multi-day trek and has been wooing and wowing walkers for centuries. We expect it to take us 7 days to make the journey, carrying everything we need, as we did on the Camino, on our backs. Most of the time we'll be walking on average 22km (13.5mi), but, to prove to ourselves that we can we have a couple of days where we'll be tackling a bit more than that.
The trail—like I imagine all of Scotland to be—is apparently breathtaking and out-of-this-world incredible. We say the same thing about Sicily, but we are very much looking forward to getting there, getting started, and becoming better acquainted with the landscape, people and culture (and hopefully we'll see a few of this little guy pictured below).
If you'd like to follow along, we'll be sharing pictures and stories throughout on Instagram and Facebook (below are the links). Or just stay tuned to this channel and I'll share the details once we're done.
See you out there!
